Volunteers' Page
This is a volunteer run organization. Without volunteers, this pageant event is NOT possible!
Roles and Descriptions are found below:
Visiting Royalty and other Volunteers: Calling all Pageant Royalty and General Volunteers of all ages UYP is looking for individuals to help in various roles throughout the pageant. You must be at least 12 years old to be a buddy to one of our pageant contestants throughout the day. Duties may include (but not limited to) helping with registration, being partnered with a contestant, or helping with crowning. The founder, director and event coordinator will assign you to a role.
General Help:
Concessions: Concessions are a great chance for everyone involved in the pageant. Contestants and the people watching the pageant will need to get refueled and refreshed. Your help is needed and duties may include (but not limited to) setting up, stocking and selling food.
Registration: This is where the day starts for the contestants. We need individuals to welcome contestants and assist them with paperwork. In addition, there will be contestant numbers to hand out as well as gift bags. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Set-Up/Clean-Up: When it comes to the production, a setting doesn't appear at the snap of a finger, nor is it dismantled quickly. This crew can be easily used for multiple production needs throughout the day, such as running errands for the founder, director and assistant event coordinator. If your are interested in this role, we would appreciate you arriving at approximately 9:00 am to help with set up and stay for approximately 30 minutes after the pageant, for tear down.
Video Taping / Photography: Although we have 1 event photographer, additional photographers and videographers are appreciated. Please let us know if you are interested in assisting with taking photos during the actual competition and video taping. You will need to provide your own equipment.
Donations: We will need certain items donated for the concessions area as well as silent auction items. If you are interested in donating any baked goods, chips, water, soda, hot dog buns, hamburger buns or silent auction items, please indicate what you are able to contribute and the quantity. Baked goods should be 3" x 3" and individually wrapped. The event coordinator will contact you to schedule drop off / pick up of items. Remember 100% of all money raised from the entire event is donated to non-profit organizations.
